Presentation Instructions
Oral presentations
All oral presentations will be conducted in Chamber 1 of the venue. The time slot for each oral presentation is 20 minutes, which includes the time for questions and discussions. You are advised to plan for a talk of roughly 15 minutes, leaving 5 minutes for questions. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of your session, and (1) introduce yourself to your Session Chair, and (2) upload your presentation file to the computer at the venue. Try to sit towards the front of the presentation room. The Session Chair will introduce your presentation as well as monitor the length of the presentation.
The room for oral presentations will be equipped with a computer running Windows, an LCD projector, a microphone, a lectern, and a pointing device. The computer in the lecture room will have Microsoft Office 2010 and Acrobat Reader 9, as well as a Wireless internet connection. Should you require any other A/V equipment, please send a request to Prof. Brian Mak at mak@cse.ust.hk. Failure to make prior arrangements may mean that the equipment you request will not be available to you.
You are requested to check that your presentation is properly displayed by the computer in the Speaker Ready Room which will have an identical setup as in the computer in the oral session. Limited editing facilities will be provided by the computer in the Speaker Ready Room.
Poster presentations
Poster sessions provide a good medium for authors to present papers and meet with interested attendees for in-depth technical discussions. In addition, attendees find the poster sessions a good way to sample many papers in parallel sessions. Thus it is important that you display your message clearly and noticeably to attract people who might have an interest in your paper.
All poster presentations will be conducted in Chamber 3 of the venue. A poster board which measures 248cm tall by 200cm wide (approximately 8 ft. high by 6 ft. 6 in. wide) will be provided. A poster of 122cm tall by 183cm wide (roughly 4 ft. x 6 ft.) is recommended. Push tacks or velcro adhesive will be provided at the conference to mount your poster to the board.
Poster sessions are 1 hour 40 minutes long, as indicated in the technical program. This is the time interval you should be present at your poster to answer questions. Note that all posters of the morning sessions have to be installed during the morning coffee break at 10:00. and should be removed before 13:00. The posters of the early afternoon sessions have to be ready at 13:45 and the boards should be cleared during the coffee break. For the late afternoon sessions, the posters should be installed during the afternoon coffee break and cleared before 18:30. If possible, more than one author should attend the session to aid in presentations and discussions, and to provide the presenters with the chance to rest or briefly view other posters. Please make sure to place your poster at the right board! In case you have any questions, please contact your Session Chair. He/she will be on site 20 minutes before the session starts.
